Church of St James
Built on a hump above the town, this is a very ancient Church that reminds of the rural houses of the past.
The Church of St James was built in Selvetta, on a rocky hump that is now covered in pastures. The church is very simple and reminds of the old rural houses. It dates back to the Fourteenth century and still houses the ancient Medieval monolithic architrave of the side entrance and a number of interesting Fifteenth-century frescoes. In an age when most of the people were illetterate, those frescoes certainly have a aesthetic value, but their main aim was the dissemination of the contents of the faith.
