Albosaggia - San Giacomo
Orobic Alps - Albosaggia
Passing through little hamlets in lower Albosaggia, this route has fairly steep tarmacked climbs, some exceeding 15%, and stony, rough downhill stretches. From the car park near the “white bridge” over the Adda on the Sentiero Valtellina, pedal up to the centre of Albosaggia, then to Campelli. The first stetch is the steepest, to the turn-off for San Giacomo. Then up to above Paganoni and below Mantegone and San Giacomo, visiting them with short detours. Finally you come to San Bernardo with its tiny church. From here a rough track takes you down, turning left and to the east, passing through the other hamlets of Albosaggia, scattered through the woods. Two steep hairpins on loose terrain and a long diagonal tarmacked stretch bring you back to the town centre and your starting point.
