Surana

The settlement of Surana, isolated from the rest of the town of Poggiridenti, is located at an elevation of 680m a.s.l., on a sunny slope on the edge of the woods. The settlement underwent limited transformations: as testified by the 1853 land register, the morphological features of the settlement are virtually unchanged. 
The buildings are arranged along two parralel lines that follow the level curves. There is only one central alley delimited by two arched portals. In Surana there are some ruins, but renewed residential buildings are prevailing. Buildings generally have two floors, saddle roofs with wooden frames and stone coverings.
